Why Goaso Traditional Council has banned the celebration Valentine day. The Goaso traditional council has issued a strict warning to all residents and natives of Goaso to desist from celebrating Valentine day.
Spokesperson of the traditional council disclosed they regret for not allowing the youth to celebrate this day of love because an important celebration will take place on that day. The traditional council in their address to the press revealed that this year’s valentine’s celebration is day cancelled since the day will be used for an important funeral rite for their late king Nana Kwasi Bosomprah II.
He made known that they do not want any interference with their traditional funeral and would want to pay the maximum respect to their late king.
He also cautioned the youth to be careful in their dealings especially on that day as it marks an important occasion for the people of Goaso.
This statement released by the traditional council has generated criticism about banning this important day for lovers.
