We Will Set Up Large Recording Studios In Accra, Tema, Takoradi, & Kumasi, For Recording Artistes To Rent – Bawumia
Speaking on behalf on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Manifesto launch in Cape Coast yesterday, Vice President Bawumia said the next Akufo-Addo government will set up recording studios for artistes to rent.
“We see the creative arts as a major growth pole, it has so much talent, the problem is access to studio. As a result, we will set up large recording Studios in Accra, Tema, Takoradi, and Kumasi, for recording artistes to rent,” he said.
Meanwhile, in the lead up to the 2016 general elections, the NPP promised to build creative art theatres in all the regions. This promise is yet to take full shape since the party assumed office on January 7, 2020.
However, on December 1 2019, President Akufo-Addo cut the sod for the construction of an ultramodern theatre in the Kwadaso municipality of the Ashanti Region.
At the event, the president said: “We reaffirm our commitment to the growth of the creative arts industry by cutting the sod for the construction of the very first Senior High School in Ghana dedicated solely to the industry. I have every confidence that this school will serve as an important beacon for many young and talented people, seeking a fulfilling career in the creative arts,” he said.
Many entertainment pundits and players have criticized the government for doing little for the creative arts industry since it took office. They believe the Nana-Addo-led administration had promised a lot already which they yet to deliver on thus a new promise of setting up studios in these areas might be a mirage.
