Shatta Wale Sacked Us Because of Kweku Smoke- Addi Self Tells
One of the members of the dissolves Shatta Wale Militant’s group, Addi Self has finally speak on what caused their separation.
The reason why “JJC” hitmaker, Shatta Wale sacked his militants is still an unknwon mystery to music lovers and the Shatta movement fans.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime, Addi Self has revealed that Ghanaian rapper, Kweku Smoke caused their separation.
Addi Self claims they were there one day when Kweku Smoke came to their camp, meanwhile, nothing was said by their boss about the rapper’s visit.
“We didn’t leave on good terms; we got sacked by him. Everybody in Ghana knows that it was just an indoor misunderstanding. It was a hard moment for me, being real. But then I had to pick up the pieces and believe in myself. There was this artist that came to the camp, Kweku Smoke. He wasn’t introduced to us. I had never seen Kweku Smoke or known him”, he said.
He claims a few months after Kweku Smoke had visited them, he was seen in a live video, raining insults on the Shatta Movement boss over song theft.
Addi Self stated that Shatta Wale approached him to go live and also, as a reply insult Kweku Smoke for accusing him of stealing his song.
Addi Self said that he had never disrespected Shatta Wale, however, he advised himself not to get involved in their issue because he still did not know the purpose of the rapper’s visit.
“So two months later, Smoke came on live video saying Shatta had stolen his song and blah, blah, blah and Shatta was like, I had to go on live video and tell the boy my mind and stuff. I was like, ‘I don’t know this boy. When he came here, nobody introduced him as part of us or anything. So I don’t want to be involved in that,” he said.
According to Addi Self, Shatta Wale’s attitude towards them changed after he refused to go live and insult Kweku Smoke.
“During Afro Nation, he didn’t call us to come and perform and stuff. He started ignoring us and stuff like that until he came and sacked us,” he revealed.
Adding that “I have had his back all the time, Kweku Smoke is a chicken. But I didn’t know what I was fighting for. I still don’t know what happened. So people painted me like a black sheep. Up to now, I’m still seen as the black sheep”.
Sadly, Addi Self disclosed that their separation has affected him so badly that apart from losing friends, videos that are to be shot are left undone because the artists he featured are Shatta Wale’s friends.
I lost friends. I lost people. I’ve done collaborations with people who were supposed to show up for a video, but they didn’t show up because they were his friends and stuff like that. They’re artists in the industry, too. And then some of my songs that I left at the camp and all that. So it’s just a whole lot of things,”
