
An Achimota Justice Court has convicted and fined the 16 New Patriotic Party (NPP) individuals who attacked the premises of UTV and blocked its early evening show.
As indicated by the court, every individual is to pay a measure of GH¢2400.
The convicts were accused of connivance to carry out wrongdoing and revolting. They conceded to the charges.
This follows their intrusion of UTV studios on Saturday, October 7, 2023, during the live transmission of United Showbiz.
In their view, the show had turned into a stage where the public authority has reliably been unjustifiably censured in an amateurish way.
They again claimed that a letter from the NPP to the administration of UTV to change the show was destroyed live by An Or more, likewise a political extremist and a standard specialist of the show.
The police thusly captured and indicted them in like manner.
Following the intrusion, the Public Media Commission and the Ghana Columnists Affiliation censured the occurrence.
