Swedru-based Ghanaian “big boy” Frederick Kumi, popularly known as Abu Trica, has been indicted by the United States government for his involvement in sophisticated internet fraud schemes.
According to U.S. authorities, Abu Trica used AI-generated identities to create fake online personas, which he employed to build emotional connections with unsuspecting victims, mostly elderly Americans.

After gaining their trust, he allegedly convinced them to send money and valuable items under various false pretenses. The U.S. government has linked him to an elaborate romance-scam operation worth millions of dollars.
